Sol Landes - President

Sol served in the Navy from 1947-1952

He worked for the same company for over 25 years where he started as a Cutter and then was promoted to Production Manager, the Company went out of Business due to competition with the Foreign Markets.

Sol comes to us from Massapequa, NY he was Vice President of Beth Sholom Center in Amityville, NY for 4 years.

Further he was very active in the Community with Boy Scouts, where he was a Scout Master for 13 years, then became Assistant District Commissioner and also held a position with the Jewish Committee on Scouting, where he helped the Scouts Achieve their Alef Award or Ner Talmid Award. All this was going on while he and his wife raised their 2 children.

Sol became President in 2013 of CPJC after the Passing of Ralph Cohen. Sol has been President in 2015, 2016 to present.


Harvey Hoffman - Rabbi

Born in Brooklyn, N. Y., Rabbi Harvey Hoffman lived a life steeped in Jewish tradition. He thrived as a active member of the teenage synagogue youth Group in Queens, N. Y. As a student at Queens College, he was a member of Hillel and volunteered on an Israeli kibbutz in the summer of 1967. After college, Hoffman spent over 14 years in the glorious Jewish community of the Upper West Side of Manhattan and deeply involved himself in synagogue life.

     In his early 40's, Hoffman embarked on a career as a religious professional in Conservative synagogues; first as a cantor, then as a rabbi when he received his rabbinic ordination in 2009. He became the Rabbi of Century Pines Jewish Center on February 1, 2011.


Glenn Sherman - Cantor 

Glenn Sherman a third generation Cantor, is the Cantor at Century Pines Jewish center in Pembroke Pines, Florida. He has been the Cantor, Torah reader and B’nai Mitzvah teacher at  Temple Emanu-El in Palm Beach, Florida (1991-2001) and Cantor  at Temple Beth David in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, from (2003-2007). He has taught and officiated at hundreds of Bnai Mitzvah.

Glenn Sherman and Jaret | Traveling Bar Mitzvahs Ft. LauderdaleFor the past 17 years Cantor Sherman has officiated at Passover and Hannukah on Royal Caribbean Cruise lines, and lectures yearly on Holy Land cruises to Israel.

Glenn Sherman’s passion for Judaism inspired him to become President of the Bach Synagogue in Long Beach, NY. It was that passion and natural ability to work with young people that led to five years as an educator at Camp Ramah in New York as well as Massachusetts.
